Grouping/Ungrouping URLs
Manually applying schema to thousands of pages is a time-consuming and resource-heavy task. With Milestone Schema Manager’s Bulk Grouping capabilities, you can now group thousands of URLs and apply schemas across them in one go. Ensuring your pages are always entity-ready and being discovered across searches while reducing the load on schema deployment teams.
Step 1: From Milestone Schema Manager’s home page click on ‘Settings’ to the bottom of the left navigation panel.
Step 2: You can download the list of URLs that are present in Milestone Schema Manager using the ‘Download Current URLs’ button to the bottom right of the Settings page.
The list of URLs is downloaded in the form of a spreadsheet
Step 3: Download the template for URL Grouping using the ‘Download Template’ in the ‘URL Grouping’ tab.
Step 4: Add the URLs and the respective groups in the spreadsheet. You can copy URLs from the URL list downloaded earlier. Save the spreadsheet to your device.
Please Note:
- Mention the group name against the URL under the ‘Group’ column. All URLs having the same group name will be grouped together.
- If a URL shouldn’t be part of any group, enter ‘Ungroup’ against the ‘Group’ column. ‘Ungroup’ keyword is case insensitive.
- Any URL which is not included in the grouping template but is present in Schema Manager will be ignored during re-grouping. It will appear as ungrouped.
Step 5: To apply the grouping click on ‘Upload File’ and upload the spreadsheet
Once the file has been uploaded successfully you will be prompted.
Step 6: Now you can apply the grouping by clicking on ‘Apply Grouping’.
Step 7: You will be prompted because this will overwrite any existing URL grouping. Click on ‘Yes’ if you wish to continue.
The new groups will now populate the ‘Tag Schema’ section
You can now click on the ‘+’ symbol to add schema across URLs in a group.
To ungroup URLs select a group and click on ‘Ungroup’ to the top of the ‘Tag Schema’ section
You can also rename a group and recrawl the URLs within a group.
