Dashboard Overview

The Analytics Overall Performance tab displays metrics across all channels and gives a summary of the performance of your business from all channels without having to go into individual tabs to check data and performance.

The Analytics Overall Performance tab has 2 key widgets:

  • Overview

  • Portfolio Metrics

Let’s get into the functions of what you can do with these two widgets.

Edit Dashboard

Use the 'Edit Dashboard' to select the KPIs you wish to display across all your tabs on Milestone Analytics. 

Select the tab, the metric, and click on 'Save'. The selected KPIs will not only be displayed on your dashboard, but on the reports you generate. Click on 'Cancel' to switch back to the dashboard and 'Reset' if you wanna restore the previous settings. 

You can also add a KPI. If you do so, enter the details such as metric name, event category. event action, event label and tool tip. Click on 'Apply' to add the KPI. 

Settings

Back on the dashboard, using the button, you have the option of choosing just one of the widgets or both. As soon as you click on the ’Settings’ button, the widget drop-down option will appear. Choose the widgets and click on ’Apply’.

In addition, you can choose the chart types to display the KPI trend. 

And you can also group data - by day, week, and month. 


Overview Widget


On the Overview widget, you can choose to see data and performance of certain metrics or channels under the key 4 categories – Website Performance, Organic Performance, Local Performance, & Paid Media Performance.

Click on the  arrow to view the performance of a certain metric or channel under each of the aforementioned category.

 

To view the performance in a certain graphical representation, simply click on the scorecard tile and it will get highlighted in a certain color and be represented in a graph of your choice.

You also have the option of viewing the performance by clicking on the portfolio view button  

Click on the  and select up to 8 columns to be displayed from the drop-down list.


Portfolio Widget

Now, let’s get into the Portfolio Metrics widget

The portfolio widget can be used to fetch key data on the performance of the business which can be used for QBRs. Some of the metrics displayed in the Portfolio metrics widget are calculated by combining data across channels. For example: 

- Natural Sessions = "Organic Search" + "Direct" + "Local" channel traffic

- Paid Sessions = Paid Search" + "Paid Social" + "Other Advertising" + "Meta Search" + "Display" channel traffic

- Social Sessions = "Organic Social" sessions

Whereas other metrics are from individual channels. For example, Organic impressions, GMB home calls, etc. 

The functionality of the Portfolio Metrics widget is the same as the Overview widget. Click on the drop-down to choose a certain metric or channel. Click on the scorecard tile to highlight it and see it in a graphical representation and click on the portfolio view  button to view a detailed performance of each property of your business.
