How to Verify GSC & GTM Disconnection from MPC
This guide outlines how to perform a monthly audit of Google Search Console (GSC) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) connections in the Milestone Platform (MPC). This check ensures that schema scripts are firing correctly on client websites, which is critical for maintaining SEO performance and structured data visibility.
If GSC access is lost or the GTM script is not firing, schema implementation may fail—impacting search visibility and reporting. This document is part of the standard QA process for ongoing client maintenance.

Purpose of the Task
- Ensure GSC is connected for all active client profiles in MPC.
- Confirm that the Milestone schema script is firing correctly on client websites.
- Support early detection of issues that may affect structured data visibility in search results.
Step 1: Verify GSC Connection in MPC
Open MPC and go to your assigned client profile.
Check the GSC connection status within the profile.
- If connected ✅: No action needed.
- If disconnected ❌: Update the GSC & MPC Verification Master Sheet and follow internal escalation.
Cross-check with the Engineering team's GSC Disconnection Report (sent via email monthly) to confirm any known disconnects.
Step 2: Confirm Schema Script Trigger
Open the client’s website in an incognito browser window.
Use Chrome DevTools:
- Right-click → Inspect → Open the Console or Network tab.
- Look for the Milestone schema script (e.g., schema-loader.js).
If the script is not firing, alert the assigned Customer Success Manager (CSM) so they can coordinate with the client to resolve the issue.
